This position involves working primarily with preschool-aged children in a supportive educational environment. Candidates will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in early childhood education through the following key duties: Responsibilities: Lesson Planning: Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that promote learning and development in areas such as literacy, numeracy, and social skills. Assessment: Conduct regular assessments of children's progress and development, using various tools and methods to evaluate their growth. Tracking Developmental Milestones: Monitor and document children's developmental milestones, ensuring that each child's growth is aligned with early learning standards. Creating a Positive Learning Environment: Foster a nurturing and inclusive atmosphere that encourages exploration, creativity, and active participation among preschoolers. Collaboration: Work closely with other educators, parents, and caregivers to support each child's learning journey and address any developmental concerns. Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices and stay updated on early childhood education trends. Required qualifications: Educational Background: Currently pursuing or holding a degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field. Experience with Young Children: Prior experience working with preschool-aged children in an educational or childcare setting is preferred. Understanding of Developmental Milestones: Familiarity with developmental milestones for preschoolers and an understanding of early childhood education principles. Strong Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues, fostering a positive and collaborative environment. Creative and Engaging: A passion for creating engaging lesson plans and activities that promote learning and development. Flexibility and Adaptability: Willingness to work flexible hours, including part-time or substitute roles, and adapt to the needs of children and the educational environment. Background Check: Must be able to pass a background check in accordance with child safety regulations.
Skills or traits preferred: Classroom Management: Skills in managing classroom behavior and fostering a positive learning environment. Creativity: Strong ability to develop engaging and innovative activities that capture children's interest. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with children, parents, and staff. Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with others, contributing to a cooperative educational atmosphere. Personality Traits: Patience: A calm demeanor that helps in managing the challenges of working with young children. Empathy: A genuine understanding and concern for the emotional and developmental needs of preschoolers. Enthusiasm: A positive attitude and passion for teaching and nurturing young children. Flexibility: Willingness to adapt to changing circumstances and the diverse needs of children. Dependability: Reliability and a strong sense of responsibility toward the role and the children’s well-being.
Years of experience preferred: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working with preschool-aged children in educational or childcare settings is preferred. Experience can include roles such as teaching assistant, childcare provider, or any position involving direct interaction with young children.
Wages: $13-$15
