•Working with leadership to understand the planning involved with overseeing several thousand commercial production acres • Working with our field inspectors to ensure we have a proper cut and pull of female tassels • Perform and lead regular inventory audits • Work with logistics and warehouse-based software tools, including SAP and Sales Force • Gain firsthand knowledge of Logistics and Warehousing programs and policies • Perform field safety audits on contracted field crews • Gain firsthand knowledge with Health, Safety, and Environment programs and policies in a manufacturing environment
Required qualifications: • Hold a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation to and from work
• Ability to work longer hours during peak seasons
Skills or traits preferred: • Ability to build relationships and work well in a team-based environment;
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization;
• Self-motivated with a strong results orientation;
• Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to organize (thoughts, data, etc);
• Demonstrated leadership ability,
• Desire to learn and willing to ask questions and able to adapt to change.
Years of experience preferred: 1-3 years' work experience. Ag or manufacturing industry preferred.
Additional information: Bayer Waco Seed Production has been in operation for 15 years. Each year we grow, condition, package, and ship roughly 2 million units of DEKALB and Channel brand seed corn for commercial sale as 1 of 9 corn production sites across the country. This summer program offers the opportunity to grow in understanding of seed field production and manufacturing methods.
