Although York College was founded in 1890, York College Online was launched in 2010 to expand the reach of the school. The majority of YC Online students are enrolled in one of the school's graduate programs.  Recent fall enrollments average around 650 students with about 450 studying on campus and another 200 enrolled in online classes. Students attending York come from about 30 states and several countries.

The school's physical property has seen steady expansion with a series of projects involving new construction or major renovation since the late 1990s. The college has grown from only four major buildings in 1956, to a campus of 17 major facilities on 50 acres that serve the needs of a growing student body. A park-like atmosphere bordered by a neighborhood of century-old houses and brick streets provides a classic collegiate setting.

During the inauguration of Dr. Sam Smith as the college's twenty-first president, it was announced that the institution will  transition from York College to York University in the summer of 2022.

York College exists to support God’s transformational work in the lives of people. Curricular and co-curricular programs and experiences intend to lead the entire community to a positive expression of spiritual values.

Academic discovery is a God-honoring endeavor characterized by the pursuit of truth and inquiry within the context of intellectual disciplines. The responsible handling of academic freedom provides Christian scholars opportunities to explore both a diverse world and their faith.

A rapidly changing professional, social, and technological environment dictates that each student is encouraged to apply critical thinking and knowledge integration skills, and to evaluate changing circumstances in the context of faith.

Service is the means by which people of God live out their faith. Christ calls us to lives of service expressed by faith, both locally and globally, as we respond to opportunities to the needs of others.

Masters of Arts in Organizational & Global Leadership

“I had an amazing experience studying at York College.”
Yong Guang Teh

“The Masters in Organizational Leadership better prepared me in my roles as a clinician as well as a healthcare administrator. I value the lessons and thought-provoking discussions on wide-ranging topics that include personal self-care, evidence based evaluation practices, coping with change and many others. The modules are deeply rooted in real-world application of organizational concepts- this makes the lessons very relevant as well as engaging. Also, the program has been thoughtfully put together in a way that encouraged me to explore critical theoretical concepts on my own. I highly recommend this course to anyone who would like to deepen their understanding of contemporary organizational and leadership practices.”
