Program Overview

The Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) will prepare individuals for professional management positions within healthcare institutions. The program integrates a pragmatic approach to the pedagogy of healthcare management systems, health policy, and public health. Students acquire a strong conceptualization of business analytics, finance, leadership, and strategies to utilize in managing healthcare venues.  By obtaining business acumen, technical knowledge, and real-world skills, students will glean the expertise to constructively and efficiently analyze problems, develop strategic solutions, and effectively communicate procedural data to fellow healthcare professionals while serving as a healthcare administrator.

Department Outcomes

Our goals/outcomes for graduates of the Master of Healthcare Administration degree program:

1. The graduate candidate will apply ethical principles in professional settings.
2. The graduate candidate will evaluate multiple approaches in healthcare programs in a professional context and communicate effective change.
3. The graduate candidate will demonstrate proficiency in healthcare policy, development, and problem-solving.
4. The graduate candidate will identify best practices in healthcare professions and settings using effective strategic planning strategies within a variety of contexts.
5. The graduate candidate will be able to effectively analyze the role and responsibilities of a healthcare administrator, understand models, and show an ability to implement those frameworks.
