Program Overview

The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Business Administration provides students with a comprehensive foundation in business principles, management practices, and organizational operations.  Students are introduced to the critical thinking, reasoning, interpersonal communication, and problem-solving skills needed to succeed in today's challenging and dynamic business world.  Knowledge and skills are developed in a number of business disciplines, such as accounting, finance, marketing, operations, and resource management.  The program is designed to prepare students for careers in business, entrepreneurship, and leadership across a wide range of industries.

Administrative Management (Area of Concentration)

The Administrative Management concentration in the BBA program focuses on the study of administrative functions, management practices, professional relationships, and business operations.  It covers key aspects of planning, overseeing and directing organizational activities, while also incorporating related fields such as accounting, finance, project management, and marketing.  Students will develop essential critical, conceptual, and interpersonal skills that prepare them for leadership roles in all types of organizations.

Agricultural Business (Area of Concentration)

The Agricultural Business concentration in the BBA program combines core business disciplines such as management, marketing, finance, accounting, operations, and strategy with agriculture-specific subjects such as farm management, commodity markets, production, rural development, agri-policy, and agri-science.  This program teaches students how to effectively manage, finance, and market agricultural enterprises and agribusiness operations.

Departmental Learning Outcomes

  1. The learner will acquire foundational business knowledge necessary to be competent and productive business professionals while demonstrating business acuity through the application of business language, methodologies, and functions in today’s business environment.
  2. The learner will develop critical thinking skills, oral and written communication skills, analytical skills, and technological skills for business application.
  3. The learner will weigh ethical principles in the business environment.
  4. (ADMAN) The learner will demonstrate an ability to integrate the concepts of the core areas of business and management concepts while making business decisions.
  5. (AGBUS) The learner will be able to recognize and examine the relationships between inputs and outputs in their agricultural field to make effective and profitable decisions.
