Doreen Lopez graduated from York University in 2024 with a Master of Arts in Organizational and Global Leadership. Lopez is the Career Specialist for the York High School 11-12 program. This program focuses on career readiness skills, leadership and self-development skills, job attainment skills, and much more.
"Ever since I began classes for my master's degree, I have been able to connect the content with real-life scenarios within my current position. The professional development that I have gained has allowed for more doors to open, as I've recently been offered a promotion. I am so thankful for professors like Dr. Cheryl Couch, who mentored me throughout my journey of attaining my Master's degree. While juggling being a specialist, women's basketball coach, and being involved with the community, her constant support was deeply appreciated.
"The skills I have developed have allowed me to contribute to the growth of the organization and collaborate with other organizations, which has led to successful partnerships, and empower the students I get to work with every day in my classroom."
