York University Online Earns 5-Star National Recognition

York University Online reached new heights earning five stars and national recognition in Newsweek’s America’s Top Online Learning Schools 2025. Research determining which schools should be listed among the top 250 included program affordability, practicality and reputation details. York University Online sits in the top 15 nationwide for its online programming.

The asynchronous structure and reasonably priced programs are key components that helped make higher education a reality for York University Online students, especially those needing to balance educational pursuits with other commitments such as family and employment.  The highest accolades from alumni at both the undergraduate and graduate levels speak of the opportunity to engage in their studies with the necessary support, grace and resources to succeed. These attributes surely contributed to York University’s recent recognition but ultimately serve as foundational points of pride for the Online Department.

Ken Yunevich, the Associate Dean of Online, said about York University Online’s newest distinction, “This recognition is a testament to the diligent work of our faculty and staff to provide a platform that is accessible, affordable, disciplined and true to our Christ-centered education mission. To have our graduates be proud of their educational experiences and the diplomas they earned is what drives us.”

As the Online program grows in reputation, so does the variety of educational options and concentrations offered. In Fall 2024, the university launched another master’s degree program, a Master of Healthcare Administration to prepare individuals for professional management positions within healthcare institutions. Additionally, building on a widely successful Master of Arts in Education program, York now offers options for Principal Endorsement and Early Childhood Education for qualified educators.

York University Online intends to provide an authentically Christian, affordable, relevant, “award-winning” option for any student hoping to complete an online degree.
