Admission requirements

York University welcomes prospective students to explore our Undergraduate, Graduate, and Dual Enrollment programs. We understand that admission requirements can be a complex topic, which is why we have provided detailed information below on the criteria for entry into each of our programs. Undergraduate (<28 credit hours)
Students with 27 credit hours or less must submit:
  • High School Transcripts
  • Minimum class rank of 50 percent
  • ACT score (or SAT equivalent) of 18+
  • Official College Transcript(s)
  • Minimum of 1.6 GPA
Undergraduate (28-59 credit hours)
Students with 28-59 credit hours must submit:
  • High School Transcripts
  • Proof of Graduation
  • Official College Transcripts
  • Minimum of 1.8 GPA
Undergraduate (60+ credit hours)
Students with 60+ credit hours must submit:
  • High School Transcripts
  • Proof of Graduation
  • Official College Transcripts
  • Minimum of 2.0 GPA
Exceptions
The following in special cases:
  • GED completers may need to take the ACT or SAT to be considered for acceptance (Passing GED equals 2.0 GPA)
  • A non-traditional student will be required to submit his/her most recent transcript(s)
Graduate Requirements
All students applying to Graduate Programs must have/submit:
  • Official College Transcripts 
  • Minimum of 2.8 GPA
  • International Applicants - TOEFL 72 
Dual Enrollment
All students seeking Dual Enrollment must submit:
  • Completed Application Form
  • Reminder: Dual Enrollment classes are currently only $100/credit hour for online students.
