Bachelor's of Bible and Ministry

Program Overview

A Bachelor’s Degree in Bible and Ministry is more than just studying the Bible (although that is essential), being rooted in truth, and deeping your faith.  It's also about shaping your character, focusing your calling, and preparing for meaningful service and leadership.  If you’re considering church ministry, missions, counseling, nonprofit leadership, graduate-level Bible programs, or simply want to grow in your understanding of God's word, York University is commited to building a foundation of Biblical literacy and learning for students to apply timeless spiritual principles in both minstry-related professions and everday life.  You will be challenged to study deeply, think critically, and live faithfully.  

Through engaging courses in theology, biblical interpretation, and Christian leadership, you’ll gain a solid foundation in Scripture and learn how to apply timeless biblical principles to modern life and ministry. 

Special features of the Bachelor of Arts in Bible and Ministry include:

  • Historical and cultural background of Scripture

  • Theological foundations of Christian belief

Departmental Learning Outcomes

  1. The learner will demonstrate an understanding of the Bible that illustrates a discerning use of Scripture.
  2. The learner will demonstrate an understanding of the practices of nurturing Christian faith for self and others.
  3. The learner will demonstrate an understanding of the essential components of ministry to the church and world.
  4. The learner will demonstrate an understanding of the essential components of ministry to youth and families in the contemporary world.
  5. The learner will be able to provide Christian counsel promoting individual and family flourishing.
